Mittens Manufacturing

100% FRENCH ARTISANAL MANUFACTURING

We started with a simple observation: there are no longer any high-quality leather ski mittens made in France. Most ski clothing is manufactured in Asia. Leatherworking is a specialised skill that is rarely used in the French clothing industry. We were committed to reviving French leather mittens by working on an authentic and robust product that combines the technical features and comfort essential for ski mittens.

We have collaborated with a historic French workshop based in the heart of the Pyrenees mountains, which continues to keep exceptional craftsmanship alive. The workshop is one of the few French glove makers still in operation, passionately preserving the specific skills and techniques involved in making leather gloves.

THE DESIGN OF GLOVES

In terms of design, the leather acts as a second skin that protects the inside of the mitten. It is reinforced by a waterproof membrane that ensures the mitten is watertight, while allowing the inside to breathe. The inside of the mitten is made of thick fleece, which provides thermal insulation and optimal comfort.

A COMPLEX ASSEMBLY

It is meticulously crafted. The assembly is done entirely by hand. Composed of more than 15 pieces, each stage of the assembly requires high-quality workmanship. When assembling the mitten, the quality of the seams is the best guarantee of the mitten's durability over time.

LEATHER

We are committed to selecting the finest hides from farms in our regions. We are proud to promote a 100% French leather industry. The cow or goat hides, sourced from local farms, are then treated and prepared in a local tannery.

Cowhide leather is particularly thick and robust. It is ideal for intensive use and for keeping warm, especially when mountaineering. Goatskin leather is more supple and finer. It adds a touch of refinement and allows for a more precise and comfortable grip.
